WAYLA Bar & Lounge hosts The Art of Lamin Martin Exhibit: Canvas Series

On Friday December 3rd, I popped by the WAYLA(What Are You Looking At) Bar & Lounge in Leslieville. From the outside, WAYLA is unobtrusive. One could easily walk past it with its narrow window and a sign above that says "Carlaw Carburations". Inside, however, is simple and chic; complete with high ceilings, exposed air ducts and colourful contemporary lighting. WAYLA frequently hosts events and tonight they showcased The Art of Lamin Martin Exhibit: Canvas Series.

From afar, one might think that these canvases were painted on, but they are in fact digital illustrations printed on a textured matte canvas. Lamin, a digital artist and illustrator, showcased sixteen pieces taken from his published artbooks specializing in conceptual fantasy. It is easy to lose yourself in his art, as you stand there and stare in wonderment.

Don't take my word for it, Lamin's canvas series will be up at WAYLA for the next 30 days. Just because you missed the launch, doesn't mean you have to miss the exhibit.
