50 years..Nothing to Sneeze at..But a Milestone by Any Standards
For Dr. Marten's 50th Anniversary, they are launching a commemorative limited edition footwear collection. The two styles that Dr. Marten will be launching are the iconic 8-eye 1460 boot and the classic 3-eye 1461 shoe. These two styles will have a limited edition run of 1460 pairs per colour for the boots and 1461 pairs per colour for the shoes globally.
The leather used is a rich premium Polished Pebble that will feature exclusively on this range. Dr. Martens offers a variety style of boots, shoes and sandals for men and women.
To accompany the product, Dr. Marten added an extra cache to the collection, a limited edition box along with a certificate of authenticity personally signed by the brand founders/owners, a bespoke swingtag and gold footprint tissue paper - ensuring the collection establishes itself as a genuine collector's item for those brand enthusiasts.
The trim of the footwear will have the inspired gold eyelets, metallic gold footbed, inspired by the tradition of celebrating 50th anniversary with "GOLD". Handcrafted in the original UK factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire, the two styles will be positioned at $240 for the 1460 and $220 for the 1461 respectively.
The Dr. Martens 50th Birthday Celebration launch will happen on the 1st day of April 2010.
