Bye Bye Lacroix

After much talk and speculation, the design house of Christian Lacroix will be shutting down its couture doors and will be maintaining the brand through licensing. Although haute couture makes for stunning editorial and runway shows, the clothing is unrealistic and unfeasible to the average person. There is such a small market for Haute Couture and unfortunately we are seeing the effects of the economic times. After attempts at restructuring and eventually bankruptcy, this shouldn’t be a huge surprise but it is still a shame to see any fashion house at the brunt of the economic downturn.
