With Halloween over, we are seeing the quick appearance of Christmas decorations everywhere. Although it’s just under two months away, retailers are trying to push the spirit and more importantly, the sales.
In New York, the big retailers like Saks, Bloomingdales, Macy’s and Neiman Marcus, to name a few, do extraordinary window displays that are often roped off for crowd control. Their windows are huge spectacles and visitors flock from all over to see them. In Toronto, few retailers see the value of fun and lively windows. Festive windows puts people(consumers) in the festive mood! Holt Renfrew on Bloor is one of the stores in Toronto that goes out with a bang in terms of vivacious windows. We also have to give The Bay on Queen Street credit; they try to create spirited Christmas windows but unfortunately, their windows often lack newness.
On November 5th, Holt Renfrew Bloor Street will celebrate their 5th Annual Holiday Window Unveiling with musical performances, early holiday shopping and special guest appearances. This is a fun way to get into the festive spirit. A portion of the purchases made that night will be going to the United Way. For some holiday shopping, a fun evening and even some Dylan's Candy samplings, make your way out to Holt Renfrew on Bloor this Thursday!
